Willow Luxe was founded by Mohammad Basit Kambay, a 23-year-old entrepreneur whose journey began in 2021 while he was in Delhi for medical reasons.
What started as a moment of uncertainty became the beginning of something meaningful. During that time, he founded Survivor Travels, stepping into the world of entrepreneurship with determination and vision.
But Willow Luxe was not just an idea - it was something deeply personal.
Willow Luxe was not created only to sell handmade pieces. It was created to honor the people whose lives have always depended on making them.
Heritage
Craft was never distant from home. It was family, routine, and survival.
Basit grew up surrounded by craftsmanship.
In his home, pashmina shawls were not just products - they were a way of life. His mother and aunt continue to weave shawls every day, carrying forward a tradition built on patience, skill, and dedication.
His uncles, too, built their lives through craftsmanship.
One of his maternal uncles was just 12 years old when he traveled to Jaipur - the Pink City of India - selling shawls on a bicycle.
Another spent more than a decade in Delhi, going door to door, floor to floor, selling shawls just to make a living.
Turning Point
In August 2025, the struggle behind the craft became impossible to ignore.

Basit realized that behind every handcrafted product was not just effort - but struggle. The long journeys, the uncertainty, and the lack of direct access to customers made it difficult for artisans to receive the value they truly deserved.
